Hobo Radio Interview – Dani Fernandez

As a writer, actor, comedian and host, Dani Fernandez is one of the hardest working people in Hollywood. She’s also one of the kindest and most generous.

Fernandez recently contributed the Poison Ivy/Harley Quinn story “The Hunt” to the DC Pride 2022 anthology. We talked to her about Harley and Ivy’s relationship, her journey as a writer and the cinematic universe she would most like to live in.

Hobo Radio Interview – Niki Lindroth von Bahr

Niki Lindroth von Bahr makes intricate stop-motion animation films with anthropomorphic animal characters trapped in mundane existences. She uses these characters and worlds to explore deeper themes like loneliness and existentialism while making very silly visual jokes along the way. Her films really resonate in these bleak times we find ourselves in.

We recently spoke to Niki about the process of making these highly-detailed films and how they have been received across the globe.

Hobo Radio Interview – James Ward Byrkit (Shatter Belt)

Since we first spoke with James Ward Byrkit in 2014, his brilliant sci-fi film Coherence has continued to grow its cult following. Now, he’s looking to tackle his next mind-bending indie project, Shatter Belt, an anthology series in the same vein as The Twilight Zone or Black Mirror.

According to the Kickstarter:

The connecting theme is consciousness— the mysteries sounding awareness, intention, desire, and free will, in a time of disruption and recalibration. Each episode is self-contained, exploring the uncanny nature of consciousness in intimate, emotionally grounded stories.

We talked to Byrkit about his plans for the series, his decision to crowdfund it and the episode he’s already filmed with guest star Patton Oswalt.

On today’s podcast, we chat with Villepique about her guest work on shows like The Office and Terriers, the lyrical way Paul F. Tompkins said her name on Spontaneanation and Mike O’Brien’s obsession with spaghetti on A.P. Bio.
