Hobo Radio 400 – Bonecrusher and Grace (ft. Dave LaSalle and Kelly Lloyd)

For their 400th episode, Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle invite back two of their favorite guests – Dave LaSalle and Kelly Lloyd. In addition to being one of the funniest and most charming couples in Baltimore, Dave and Kelly are actors and improvisers in the Baltimore Improv Group.

The gang talk about Michael Bay’s soft spot for rescue dogs, the planned working Star Wars droids at Disneyland and the dangers of checking Facebook’s secret message folder. Plus, the gang improvises the dialogue for an existential one-act play Lars’ wrote in high school.

What if God was one of us? How did Dave and Kelly get their dog? What is the plural of haiku? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • End – “Gypsy Cowgirl” by Liah Alonso

The epic two-part crossover event continues. On this week’s Curioso, Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle joined Christopher Scarborough and Joe Taylor to talk about the always-compelling, often-confusing Nicolas Cage.

But that wasn’t enough to properly discuss the Cage. So while The Curioso episode focused mainly on Cage’s life, Hobo Radio focuses on his career. The gang talk about their favorite movies, their least favorites and the ones that just left them confused.

087-Nicolas Cage? part I

Once in a lifetime there is someone who is so perplexing in their field that they become more. They transcend their stardom. Nicolas Cage has been in over eighty movies portraying romantics, law enforcers, con men, superheros and psychopaths. He has spawned countless memes due to his sometimes bizarre acting choices. There have been TV episodes based wholly off of whether he is a great or terrible actor. Yet you cannot deny that he is an Oscar winning thespian. We could not tackle this subject alone. It’s to big for two men. So we called in Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle from Hobo Trashcan to decide if Nicolas cage is a good actor or a great one.
