Silver Linings Playback 11 – Thor: The Dark World

Subscribe:

Joel Murphy and Andy McIntyre are continuing their quest to watch maligned movies in hopes of finding a silver lining.

For the month of July, they are watching superhero movies.

When you think maligned superhero movies, you don’t tend to think of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has become the gold standard for the genre. However, as much as it now seems like the MCU can’t miss, the early days were a bit more rocky. Perhaps the rockiest film of all is Thor: The Dark World, the lackluster Phase 2 sequel to Thor.

Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle talk about Jeremy Renner’s app, which was meant to be a way for Renner fans to connect with the actor and each other, but was overrun by trolls and has now been shut down.

They also talk about recently-crowned AEW Champion Chris Jericho, who discovered his championship title belt had been stolen from his luggage while he was eating dinner at a Longhorn Steakhouse in Tallahassee, Florida.

Does Jeremy Renner hate porno? Was Jericho’s belt being stolen a work? Did Renner wish for his career on a monkey’s paw? The answers to these questions and more are on this week’s show.
