Hobo Radio 565 – We’re big in Kenya

Like everyone else in America, Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle have been anxiously awaiting the results of this year’s Presidential election. While they wait, they try to take their minds off things with their usual pop culture shenanigans.

Joel and Lars discuss the first episode of season two of The Mandalorian, Republicans trying to intimidate people from Philadelphia and the surprising fact that Hobo Radio is popular in Kenya.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • End – “Ee Mungu Nguvu Yetu (Kenya National Anthem)” performed by Swinky

Silver Linings Playback 22 – Gone in 60 Seconds

Joel Murphy and Andy McIntyre continue their quest to watch maligned movies in hopes of finding a silver lining. For the month of September, they are watching films starring the one and only Nicolas Cage.

They end the month with Gone in 60 Seconds, a film where retired car thief Memphis Raines must steal 50 cars in 72 hours to save his brother Kip. It’s a film full of well-worn tropes and underdeveloped characters, but together they’ll find its silver lining.

Theme Song: “Bankin’” by Bronson Scott
