Silver Linings Playback 19 – USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage

Joel Murphy and Andy McIntyre continue their quest to watch maligned movies in hopes of finding a silver lining. For the month of September, they are watching films starring the one and only Nicolas Cage.

They start the month off with USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, the 2016 film directed by Mario Van Peebles. The film is based on the true story of the WWII ship that was sunk in the middle of the Philippine Sea. The survivors were forced to stay afloat in shark-infested waters for days before anyone came to rescue them. The film suffers from poor CGI and a muddled story, but together Joel and Andy find its silver lining.
