Hobo Radio Interview – Patton Oswalt

From his epic Star Wars filibuster on Parks and Recreation to his reoccurring role on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Patton Oswalt has a knack for showing up in every nerdy place his fans would hope to find him. Continuing that tradition, this season he will be appearing on the hilarious animated spy show Archer.

We recently talked to Oswalt about balancing acting with stand up, living in an Elmore Leonard novel as Constable Bob on Justified and his thoughts on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Hobo Radio 360 – Boner City

This week, Joel Murphy and Lars take on the seemingly-insurmountable task of ranking all 12 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from Iron Man to Ant-Man.

They also look at what went wrong with the Fantastic Four reboot, talk about a local production of the Batboy musical and try to figure out if we’re living in a parallel universe.

What is the name of the family of anthropomorphic bears featured in a classic series of children’s books? What MCU film is number one? Does The Thing have a thing? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.

Hobo Radio 350 – Big Vinegar

This week, Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle are back. And after catching everyone up on the last two weeks in Baltimore (which, you may have heard, have been pretty eventful), they deal with one of the city’s lesser-known issues – people not knowing how to cross the street.

They also talk about the criticisms lobbied at Joss Whedon from a group of far-left feminists who took issue with Black Widow’s portrayal in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Why are feminists upset with Joss Whedon? Was Molly plagiarized? Who is Big Vinegar? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.

Hobo Radio 334 – Plumpy

Love Actually has become a holiday classic, but Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle can’t help but be troubled by many of it’s plotlines. For Murphy, it’s the crazy notion that Natalie is fat. For Periwinkle, it’s the constant America bashing.

The duo also discuss the hacks surrounding Sony’s The Interview, Sony’s refusal to partner with Marvel on Spider-man films and Lars’ trip to Nevada.

What would it take to fix Love Actually? Why can’t Sony just give Spider-man back to Marvel? How do you pronounce Nevada? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.

Hobo Radio 329 – The Obamacare of podcasts

Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle don’t usually talk about politics on the show, but when Ted Cruz takes to Twitter to attack Net Neutrality, something that directly affects HoboTrashcan.com, they aren’t going to take that lying down.

So the dynamic duo explains why you should care about Net Neutrality on this week’s show. They also discuss an exciting new DC Comics movie, a terrible origin story for Doctor Doom and Google’s new terrifying supervillain hideout.

Can someone stop his/her mom from saying “OMG”? Why would anyone want to follow up Heath Ledger’s Joker performance? What’s the worst part about listening in on people’s phone calls? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • End – “Rumble Strip” by The Archimedian Point
