Hobo Radio Interview – Joel Soisson

From producing Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure to writing a MadLibs-style script using preexisting Skeet Ulrich footage, Joel Soisson has done it all in Hollywood.

After years of making a living writing horror sequels like Hellraiser: Hellword and Children of the Corn: Runaway, he’s written and directed something completely different: My Best Worst Adventure; the story of an American teen sent to live with her grandmother in Thailand.

We were delighted to sit down and chat with this brilliant filmmaker respected and revered by millions (and we promise we’re not just saying that so that he can pull the quote for his Wikipedia page).

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • Interstitial – “Vishnu Meets Funk” and “Ancient Ritual” by Lucas Perný & Miloslav Kollar
  • End – “Trapped” by Bumy Goldson

099-Maryland Spooky Sites?

Living in Maryland most of our lives we have encountered places here where the history is almost palpable. Native Americans were drawn to the area with the rich seafood able to be caught along the shores of the Chesapeake bay. Being one of the original thirteen colonies, we are home to some amazing, spooky and possibly haunted sites.

098-Buried Alive?

PREMATURE BURIAL
To die is natural; but the living death
Of those who waken into consciousness,
Though for a moment only, ay, or less,
To find a coffin stifling their last breath,
Surpasses every horror underneath
The sun of Heaven, and should surely check
Haste in the living to remove the wreck
Of what was just before, the soul’s fair sheath,
How many have been smothered in their shroud!
How many have sustained this awful woe!
Humanity would shudder could we know
How many have cried to God in anguish loud,
Accusing those whose haste a wrong had wrought
Beyond the worst that ever devil thought.
