Hobo Radio Interview – Steven Kostanski, writer/director of PG: Psycho Goreman

The ’80s were a ridiculous time when filmmakers were ambitious, but often forced to work within the constraints of meager budgets. That’s how we ended up with movies like Masters of the Universe, where, to save money, He-Man is magically transported from Grayskull to Earth.

Steven Kostanski is seeking to recapture some of that ’80s magic with PG: Psycho Gorman. In the film, which is available today on DVD and Blu-ray, a young girl named Mimi and her brother Luke awakens an ancient alien warrior and force him to do their bidding.

We talked to Kostanski about his inspirations for Psycho Goreman, PG’s love of “hunky boys” and what it’s been like releasing the film during a pandemic.

Hobo Radio Interview – Jonathan Davenport, co-creator of Our Heroes Rock

When Jonathan Davenport responded to an online post looking for a graphic artist to design characters for an upcoming project, he had no way of knowing that the poster was Xavier Woods and that the project would lead to Davenport designing ring gear for the New Day and other WWE wrestlers.

After George Floyd was killed by police last summer, Davenport and New Day wanted to design ring gear depicting heroes of black history. From there, Davenport and Big E teamed up with Andreas Hale to create Our Heroes Rock, an animated show that uses hip hop and science fiction to teach kids about black history.

We talked to Davenport about the Kickstarter campaign for Our Heroes Rock, designing ring gear for the New Day and how hard it is not to geek out and ask a million questions when texting pro wrestlers.
