Silver Linings Playback 65 – Super Mario Bros.

Joel Murphy and Andy McIntyre watch maligned movies and find their silver linings. For the month of August, they are watching video game movies.

They start the month with the franchise that started it all, 1993’s Super Mario Bros. It’s a film that is very loosely based on its source material and its stars have been very vocal about how much they hated making it, but regardless, Joel and Andy will find its silver lining.

Theme Song: “Bankin’” by Bronson Scott

We kept hearing reports from our friends about a wrestler with a moogle on his shoulder. Apparently this happened at the yearly Wrestlemania event. We decided to call up someone we know would be watching, a pop culture expert from Hobo Radio. Welcome Joel Murphy as our first summons of the show. Hopefully he can explain what Final Fantasy has to do with wrestling and the WWE.
