Hobo Radio Interview – Hynden Walch

Hynden Walch has been a part of your life for much longer than you realize. From her first major role playing Debbie Kleiser in the Bill Murray film Groundhog Day to being one of the women’s support group members who witnessed Tom Cruise’s “You complete me” speech at the end of Jerry Maguire, Walch has been a part of some of the most iconic cinematic moments in recent history. More recently, she has focused on voice acting, where she has voice Harley Quinn in a variety of projects, Princess Bubblegum in Adventure Time and Starfire in Teen Titans Go!

We spoke to Walch about what it was like to be on the set of Groundhog Day and Jerry Maguire, why she thinks acting schools are overrated and how she brings characters like Starfire and Princess Bubblegum to life.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • Interstitial – “Vishnu Meets Funk” and “Ancient Ritual” by Lucas Perný & Miloslav Kollar
  • End – “New Gods (feat. Molly Dean, Chersti Rydning)” by Toussaint Morrison

Hobo Radio Interview – Liam Neeson and writer/director Peter Landesman

Richard Nixon’s Watergate scandal has been depicted many times in films and television, but one avenue that hasn’t been thoroughly explored is what led FBI agent Mark Felt to become “Deep Throat,” the infamous whistle blower who leaked vital information to the press. Felt’s identity was concealed until 2005, when he gave an interview to Vanity Fair revealing he was behind the leaks. Writer/director Peter Landesman’s new film, Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House, gives us our first in-depth look at who the man was and why he did what he did.

We recently talked to Landesman and Liam Neeson (who stars as Mark Felt in the film) about the project at an intimate press conference held this past week in Los Angeles. Today we bring you the audio from that press conference.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • Interstitial – “Vishnu Meets Funk,” “Give It (All Night Long)” and “Ancient Ritual” by Lucas Perný & Miloslav Kollar
  • End – “National Felt” by State Shirt

Hobo Radio Interview – Fargo’s Olivia Sandoval

From her very first conversation with Carrie Coon’s Gloria Burgle in the bathroom of a police station, Olivia Sandoval burst into season three of Fargo as the lovably unfiltered Winnie Lopez. Their friendship became the heart of the season; giving a wonderful payoff to the running theme of technology not responding to Burgle.

We sat down with Sandoval to talk about her journey as an actor, her band Whiskey Sunday and how her father tried to write himself into Fargo.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • Interstitial – “Vishnu Meets Funk” and “Ancient Ritual” by Lucas Perný & Miloslav Kollar
  • End – “That Good Fight” by Whiskey Sunday
