Hobo Radio 539 – A scholarly examination of Billy Gunn’s WWE theme song “Ass Man”

Often the best segments on Hobo Radio are those unplanned moments when Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle stumble onto a bizarre, unexplored topic and dive headfirst into it. This week, that happens again when an anecdote by Lars sends them down a rabbit hole that leads to a lengthy examination of Billy Gunn’s early 2000s theme song “Ass Man.”

They also discuss the ridiculous notion that Birds of Prey is doomed to fail because, according to Internet trolls, the women in it don’t look hot.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • End – “Ass Man” by Jim Johnston

It’s may be a new year, but things haven’t changed all that much. The Golden Globes still continue to be a ridiculous awards show and this year’s host, Ricky Gervais, continues to pride himself on “taking the piss” out of the celebrities in the room; who he wants so desperately to love him.

Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle share their thoughts on the Golden Globes and Gervais’ “edgy” jokes. They also discuss Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving the Royal Family and the show Wings.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • End – “Untitled” by The Globes
