Subscribe:

Joel Murphy, Lars Periwinkle, Molly Regan, Marty McGuire and Heather Moyer decide the Final Four round of their sixth annual Hobo Madness Tournament.

This year, they are carrying the spirit of International Women’s Day through the rest of March (and April) by selecting 16 bad ass women to face off in combat. Find out who makes it to the finals when Wonder Woman takes on Hermione Granger and Gamora takes on Leeloo Dallas (Multipass). In addition to the tournament, they also discuss Molly’s recent source of inspiration and they play a round of the game Pitchstorm.

Is Hermione immortal? Ready to get creating, Molly? Laser dogs? The answers to these questions and more are on this week’s show.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • End – “Each Man Kills The Thing He Loves” by Band of Mad Women

Hobo Radio 380 – Benefits of a classical education

Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle pay tribute to David Bowie and Alan Rickman in their trademark stream-of-consciousness style (which means they also end up spending quite a bit of time talking about Stanley Tucci and Laura Linney).

They touch on Rickman’s biggest movie roles – including the Harry Potter franchise, Die Hard and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. They also talk about Bowie’s contribution to film, both on-screen and in soundtracks. And they do a WWE-themed MadLibs.

Does everyone talking about Rickman’s role in the Harry Potter series instead of Die Hard make you feel old? Is Waterworld underrated? Did any shenanigans happen during the recording of “Under Pressure”? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • End – “Featherlighter” by Lazlo Supreme
