Hobo Radio 393 – Roy Taff, tall white guy with a beard

Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle are joined by improviser Roy Taff, who is currently performing with Joel in the Baltimore Improv Group’s Unscripted.

They talk to Roy about quitting performing after being disheartened during his time in Los Angeles, only to give it another shot back in Baltimore a decade later. The guys also talk about tough conversation they’ll have to have with their future kids, the lost art of dot matrix porn and the power showrunners have in Hollywood today.

Who is Banksy? Why does Joel have a photo of Roy on his phone? What role did the ampersand play in dot matrix porn? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • End – “Devil Woman” by Greg Harrison Band

Hobo Radio 382 – Dude, where’s my car?

This past Friday, while walking out of the Creative Alliance after seeing Loudon Wainwright III in concert, Joel Murphy couldn’t find his car. It wasn’t where he parked it and both the cops and the city’s towing company had no idea where it was. Murphy shares the fate of his car with his co-host Lars Periwinkle.

They also talk about Facebook’s mishandling of birthday wishes, the benefits of topless haircuts and what a bitch it is getting older. Murphy also shares the audio from his interview with Wainwright, who he interviewed before the show.

Why does Facebook make it so hard to read people’s birthday greetings? Is there anything better than getting your hair shampooed at a salon? Dude, where’s Joel’s car? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • End – “Famous Last Words” by Martha Rose
