Hobo Radio Interview – Disney animator Paulino García

Paulino García has lived life to the fullest. As a teenager, he hitchhiked from Spain to Paris, then traveled to Tel Aviv to work on a kibbutz. From there, he explored Europe, making friends with students at the Sorbonne by translating Leonard Cohen and Pink Floyd lyrics. He found his way into a career in animation working for Hanna-Barbera, which lead him to America and eventually a job at Disney working on iconic films like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King.

Joel Murphy and Molly Regan moved into the same apartment building as Paulino and his wife Lourdes last November. The two couples became fast friends. As Paulino and Lourdes prepare to move to the Canary Islands for the next chapter of their lives, Joel sat down to talk to Paulino about his amazing life.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • Interstitial – “Vishnu Meets Funk” and “Ancient Ritual” by Lucas Perný & Miloslav Kollar
  • End – “The Protagonist” by Krestovsky

Hobo Radio 441 – It’s Raining Men

This week on the show, Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle discuss the important things in life, like Chrissy Teigen’s butthole and tentacle porn (which, we promise, are two separate topics). They also take a deep dive into the lyrics of the classic Weather Girl’s hit “It’s Raining Men,” examining the realities of a world where men are falling from the sky.

Somewhere along the way, they also pay tribute to the late, great Adam West, who gave them both immense joy as children (and adults) for his iconic portrayal of Batman.

What made Adam West’s Batman so special? Why did Kurt Eichenwald have tentacle porn open in a browser tab? Has John Legend ever seen Chrissy Teigen’s butthole? The answers to these questions and more are on this week’s show.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • End – “It’s Raining Men (Beatrappa Bootleg Remix)” by The Weather Girls
