From the Vault – Hobo Radio 163 – A very drunk Christmas

[Editor's Note - This podcast originally aired on December 23, 2010.]

The holidays can be a stressful time, so in order to spread some Christmas cheer, the Hobo Radio crew decided to get together for a special face-to-face podcast … and to get really, really drunk.

Joel Murphy and Lars throw back a Four Loco-esque malt beverage as they shoot the breeze. At one point, they attempt to discuss the True Grit remake (which Lars has mixed feelings about), but for the most part they just discuss whatever topics pop into their alcohol-soaked minds. So crack open a beer and join in on the fun.

Why is Lars against True Grit? Can Joel and Lars make it through a whole show? How incoherent will they get? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.

Hobo Radio 282 – Stop saying selfies

This week, the world said goodbye to a truly great man – Nelson Mandela. His funeral, however, was slightly overshadowed by two strange developments – the fact that the sign language interpreter was signing gibberish and the fact that our President took a selfie with the lovely Danish prime minster. Joel Murphy and Lars share their thoughts on the passing of Mandela. They also talk about Obama and the translator. Though they are mostly just upset that the word “selfie” has become so popular.

The duo also discuss Joel’s recent weight loss and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. And they do another round of MadLibs.

Is it okay to snap selfies at a funeral? Who is that mystery man next to the Danish prime minister? What is going on with Joel’s hair? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.

This week’s music:

  • Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
  • End – “It Aint Christmas Without You” by George Fletcher’s Bourbon Renewal/The Tequila Mockingbirds
